Happy New Year! Here’s an idea for starting the New Year off right—obeying the Great Commission of our Lord and Savior. In Mark 16:15 Jesus tells us to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Have you ever taken that command seriously? How, you might ask??? My life is here and it’s already really full. God has not called me to the mission field. Well, consider this: You ARE a missionary (or should be) to your family, your neighbors, those you come in contact with at work, school, or recreation. Through your prayers and financial support of our missionaries, you are also “going into all the world.” You have probably noticed that each month in the Open Gate, we feature one or more of our Gateway missionaries. Please take time out this year and pray for them! God honors and answers our prayers!

Gary & Linda Simons work with Wycliffe Translators in Dallas, Texas. Their work is going into all the world. People need the Bible! Gary works with a 70 member organization that does research, translation, raising of needed resources, & literacy in about 90 countries of the world! Please pray for this work and for Gary’s eyesight, so he may continue in it.

The next missionaries we are asking you to pray for are members of our church, Bill & Ingrid. Their work is in Asia. They work there training Christian nationals and helping individual churches provide literature and technical media for evangelism. People are accepting Christ after having Him presented—6 to 8 at a time! Please pray for this work and the growth of new believers.
